More and more people seem to be coming forward with gel allergies and I am one of them too. After a SEVERE allergic reaction, I was left with mere stubs for nails (a few peeled back 3/4 of my nail plates). Since nails are an important part of my self confidence(crazy, I know), I decided to try press-ons doing exactly what you are doing. No more allergies and none to the glue (so far). I also use sticky tabs along with the glue. It's so important that we research any products that we use on/in our bodies. Thanks for speaking about this and bringing awareness ... great video.

About a year ago I started doing press ons only for that reason. It is so easy, fast, and fun. Perfect looking cuticle lines every time!!

This video came in at a very interesting time for me. I have recently had decided to solely use press ons only. Partly because of the fear of allergies but more importantly it's because more research has come up about the UV lamps causing skin cancer. I have had skin cancer in the past and I just don't need to have an added risk. You have been my inspiration to look at new and beautiful alternatives and press ons are the way to go. I like the storage containers you have. Thanks! ❤❤❤❤

I was using builder gel and gel polish for a year and a half with no problems, then all of a sudden i had a terrible reaction, my nails separated from fingers and the skin around my nails was peeling, red and itchy. Removed the product asap. It took about 8 months for my nails to grow back in attached. I gave Hema free builder gel and polish a try and am happy that it has given me no problems after 10 months.

I love that pink.

I think it's great that you gave everyone a beware on the chemicals involved in doing our nails. Information is good.

I’m becoming a press on convert. I had too many problems with tips lifting and getting greenies. If by some chance a press on pops off, I just will get another press on adhesive and put it back on. Thanks for all the info on press ones.

I don't know enough about press ons to do them but i would love to give it a try. Do you have a video from beginning to end and can you wash dishes and life things lol without popping them off. Now i just have lots of questions. Love the informative video. Great content as always. 😊

Dip powders are still my I did have dip flu from the liquids really bad. So I switched to gel liquids and are super careful not to have product touch my skin AT ALL. Thanks for all your advise regarding your research. You channel is forever evolving. 💘

The pink is so soft and pretty. It is great that you educate your viewers. I had professional mani’s every other week for more than 10 years with gel polish (CND brand); thankfully I never had an issue. Like you I suck at regular nail polish!!

Hi Marla! Thanks to you, I started using press ons a while back. I haven''t used tabs yet, but am going to try them. I really think it's healthier for nails, skin and saves time. I love the little cases to store nails, so this is extremely helpful and timely! Thanks again for another awesome video! ❤❤❤❤

Thanks for sharing your info for doing DIY press-ons, Marla! I had been thinking about it for a while... I don't have any gel allergies *yet*, but it's something I worry about. The plusses are overwhelming... never a sub-par result due to a non-dominant hand doing the work, being able to gently remove the press-ons—and reuse them—instead of drilling/soaking off designs that took a lot of time to do, being able to switch out designs quickly and easily, and still using all of my favorite nails and polishes. Snagged your recommended supplies for press-on painting, storage, and glue tabs, now it's on to then next part of my nail journey! 😊

I’ve been doing and making press on nails myself lately. I totally get it!

I have been using all of my gel polishes to make press ons for about two years now due to gel allergies. I love this since I don't have to worry about having a wonky mani on my non dominant hand, and I can have spare sets of nails available to wear at a moments notice. I use nail glue to attach them, and with good prep get 3 weeks of wear out of them. If I know I have an event and want to wear a longer than normal nail, I use tabs and get a few days wear out of them.

I've never had an allergy due to nail products in 35 years. But I do have an unrelated chronic illness that can make doing my nails or removing dip powder or gel so difficult. So I decided to try press ons. So much easier! Easier to do it all with my dominate hand! They are so much easier to remove even with glue instead of tabs! I haven't found a set of tabs that fit my nails well, yet, but I hope to. Thanks for your insights and for such great content!

I bought all the stuff to do press on nails at Christmas for the same reasons. Currently caring for a family member so still not had time to return to doing my nails but this will be what I use too going forward ❤️❤️

Hey Marla . My favorite weirdo. I have gave everything a break including dip powder nails. I love press on nails their so much fun. The designs they have are beautiful. That pink is everything so simple and beautiful.

I've done press on nails off and on since the 90s, but the longest I can go without one popping off is usually 4 days, even with all the tricks to make them last longer. I recently started doing polygel at home and builder gel so I could have nails that last longer, but now I'm getting paranoid about developing gel allergies, so you've got me thinking about doing press ons again. I've always just done plain press ons and painted them myself with regular polish. I may have to start making some like you did in this video.
I just hate constantly having to glue them back on!

Marla! You have done it again!! Now I am shopping for press on nails!!! I like you am concerned about the allergy thing. The problem I have with press on nails are they never fit! I have wide nail beds. Do you have any brands you recommend for that issue?? Thanks

I get you, this is me too. I make press-ons with Light Elegance gels, use glue to adhere, and file off. That's what works for me.

I’ve been wanting to find an alternative to my gel polish nail routine because of all the gel allergy worries too. I came upon this video while looking at press-ons. Thank you for being so honest, it’s been really scary. This encouraged me that I might not need to fully give up on nails to be safe, but maybe just try something a little less direct. Can the tabs last a while or is glue the only way?
