The #1 Mistake New Users Make in Adobe Lightroom CC - (Importing Your Photos)

We can almost guarantee that the number one problem new Lightroom users make when importing there photos is in today's video. If you have ever imported your photos and then wondered where they went or where they were imported too and why, this video is a must watch video.

Most New Adobe Lightroom users go to the Library Module, Click the Import Button, Select there Memory Card, Camera or External Hard Drive and then hit Import. This is all great but you are forgetting one key step. If you are not updating the Destinations part during import, you most likely are importing your photos to a place that is wrong and this is why you can't find them.

Let Photonerds University show you the proper way to import your photographs into lightroom so you know exactly where they are when the import process is complete.

Please do the usual if you liked what you saw! (Thumbs up, Subscribe and the like)

I can't tell you how helpful this video was! I went thru a whole class and missed this detail and have been tearing my hair ever since. Lost track of so many photos' origins. Yes please do the follow-up video that shows us how to relocate those found photos to their proper folders and thanks again. You saved me from insanity.

For anyone that can't find the destination panel in the import area: right-click on the other panels and you will see a list of hidden panels. I hope that made sense! It took me a while to figure it out!

Probably THE most useful video about LR that I have ever seen. I have wondered for about 7 years where the imported pictures go to - now I can put them where I can find them! Many thanks.

I am a newbie to LR - this helps tremendously and I have now found a bunch of hidden photos in other folders I would have never found if it weren't for this video! Now I can start off doing things right - one step at a time. I will be checking out your other videos! Great video! Thank you!!

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I don't use LRC very much. So this was a huge help.

Finally a video that someone speaks at a calm rate for us on their first week switching from Digital Photo Professional to Lightroom Classic CC. A genuine have a nice day everybody at the end makes you smile and look forward to another. Really need to learn the begining steps. I have 26k photos in DPP and more folders that mean nothing. Once in a while I will come upon a group of photos I havent seen in a year. Badly imported and titled. (Question, while selecting photos from a hich school Basketball game.. 1200 taken. Is there a way lightroom can recognize the photos that are in focus. 80% are garbage but I still have too look at them to reject.) Great video, thanks.

Helpful. Thanks.

Issue I am wrestling with right now is Importing a load of Images from a Hard Drive Folder, into LR, BUT keeping them all in ‘Date & Time Taken’ order - ie chronological. Right now, this is producing a random jumble.

Thanks for input
