I was beginning to become frustrated with the whole LRC idea until I found this video. Thank you very much and it was a great help. I have subscribed to your channel.

just started using classic after years of IOS editing. took a lot of searching to find a good video just explaining the import section as I didn't have a clue about it. Appreciate you making this clear, no bull crap, video. Thanks for the help and I'll be checking out the rest of your stuff.

The workflow that a person uses is dependent upon the type of photographer they are. As a professional that does mostly client work (as opposed to a pro that shoots landscapes for example), I adopted a workflow from SLRLounge that has you first create a folder in my Client drive for that particular job and copy the photos there. Then in Lightroom, I choose the pictures in that folder and ADD, and create a Collection for the job. The photos and edits reside in that folder. I probably could do this in one step rather than two, but in any case, the collections keep thing separated and organized by client or job.

Great video, I’ve watched probably 50 videos on this topic and find this one to be the best. I especially like the way you simplify it. Do you plan to make a video on how to export images from Lightroom?
Thanks

If I want to make one Catalog out of two different memory cards(two separate cameras), once I finish uploading all of them how can they come show up based on the time they were taken? Every time I do this the pictures from memory card 1 are uploaded first and then the second pictures from memory card 2 come at the end, so if I have pictures from 5pm on memory card 1 and then memory card 2 also has pictures at 5pm those pictures from the 2nd memory card show up at the end, meaning after memory card 1, and it looks weird.

What if I don't have this library thing?

Hello David. I'm a beginner with LRC and I found your video which cleared some things up about importing but I have a question or two. Just to clarify, there is a source drive where the original images are stored and you use LRC to copy them to a destination drive so that they can be manipulated in the final drive. These are still the original files, correct? Or are they the images that LRC uses to display the photo to the user? I'm a little confused as to when the "images" are in LRC to edit. And where to Folders and Collections fit into the picture? If you have a video that explains this, please point it out to me. thank you. Andres

I shoot in RAW and JPEG on my Canon camera. When I try to import my photos from one date, Lightroom imports only JPEG. I want to edit the RAW photos. Could the problem be that I've selected "don't copy suspected duplicates." Thanks.

NO, when I open Lightroom it does NOT give me the library option!

Want to make a good video? Stop the blahblahblah and import a photo ready to process. I can drop and copy any photo into Pshop and it opens ready to work on, but not Lightroom. What people want to know is how, in less than 30 seconds, how can I open a photo in Lightroom and get to work on it immediately.
