For the 90's, these are top notch effects. You can really buy that little dude is a real creature. Really impressive.

There is more depth of characters heartfelt emotion and actual writing in this 2 minute scene than the entirety of MiB international

Can't believe this was released in 1997. Still extremely funny. I was little and didn't understand English then, so now that I'm bilingual I can finally understand how hilarious this movie was. Love it.

The cat giving the sad cry is the saddest part of this whole scene.

I love how the little alien guy CLEARLY said "ON Orion's Belt" but J interpreted it as inside the literal Orion constellation.

This movie is really quirky and fun and really makes people think about the world. The biggest things in the world (figuratively and literally) like a galaxy could actually be minute given the situation.

Man, K sure is vicious when he neuralyzes, waits for no one, doesn't even check if his partner is ready.

You have to give the alien credit. If you had to give a dying message to some alien creatures, you have to think of what you want to say and translate it yourself. You may not have time to remember if the language you are speaking has adnouns or proverbs, or how many of the twenty-seven time tenses the alien specie you are relaying your message to uses. And while he had been living on the planet for a good while, also got lucky on which native language to translate your message to.

Alien: Pour empêcher la guerre, la galaxie est sur le collier d'Orion.* [dies]
J: Uh, K, this little alien dude is speaking like, French or something.

This first MIB is such an incredible film... We don't think of family friendly popcorn summer movies as "good films"... But just look at this scene. From the humor to the subtle character development on all 3 of them... The emotion portrayed by the lil alien (which was done with PRACTICAL EFFECTS AND PUPPETRY wow)...even the sad cat seemed...heartfelt. Just a really well made piece of art and entertainment. The new MIB should be ashamed. They missed the heart and creativity of this film.

Blows my mind the CG on the little dude still looks this good years later. The animation is so damn good. ILM really spent a lot on these shots for sure. So much so the little puppet now stands out when it shows up briefly in the shot.

The fact the lil dude used up every bbn last amount of stregnth in order to tell him where the Galaxy is instead of simply dieing is honorable
