Yep we did the same thing. Off the grid back to farm animals. But we work full time and only grow enough animals for food. The only problem we have is listen to this.... Now this is 2021 right? Right? Electricity. And what happens? For the first time in my very old lifetime, Entergy sends text messages to people in our very rural area to conserve electricity in southeast. for a couple of hours NO they shut it off for 2 damx days!!! They decide to shut it off. The families that have lived out here for generations said this is the first time Entergy has intentionally shut off electricity to conserve?!?!?! First time ever !!! In 2021 imagine that....the same year expensive solar panels are pushed. Intentional partners with political agendas? ....we will never know but sure sounds intentional. And Entergy does NOT reimburse for lost food. Imagine that. Invested in some solar and generator. By the way, solar panels only last as long as the sun and expensive battery backups....solar is NOT affordable NOR reliable especially when rains for weeks during this hot humid weather. The ROI on solar is well many many years about 8 .... and that is if your bill normally runs around 250-300 a month. If it runs lower we will be dead before we see the ROI from solar. People should have recourse from loss from intentional shutdowns.
