how do you determine linear independent for a set of more than 2 functions??  For example, {sin2x, e^x, x^2} and i set it up as c1sin2x+c2e^2+c3x^2=0. I tried to figure out c1, c2, c3 to be computed into the equation, but I don't think any function is a constant multiple of the other. Do I have to use Wronskian to prove it? Cuz, my teacher hasn't gone over the class

For the second example, I set different values of c1, c2, and c3 and I still got zero. Can the constants vary as long as in the end they equation equals zero? Thanks!!
