I have made quite few friends that are ukrainian tbrough last job i use to do now we are buddys and check on eachother and watch out for our families. I started learning this past year or 2. But basics. I enjoy it very much. I enjoy thier company more then some americans. And im half italian.

I just thought it would be good to recognize some basic worda cuz i get tired of having to rely on subtitles when listening to the news

Here they ask to write in Latin, and I wondered if language schools in other countries write in Cyrillic so that it would be more understandable for Ukrainians?

On Duolingo, they're saying the words too fast IMO. I've never heard any of the words before but they're speaking them at a pace as fast as if I'd heard them all my life. I'm only in the first chapter of elementary Ukrainian.
Also, in a movie that had characters with Ukrainian names, all the characters pronounced the city, Kyiv, to sound like KEY EV. That confused me to no end. Why would Ukrainian people pronounce it like English?

I'm sorry but did I miss a part, what is the point of showing the Ukrainian alphabet, what you should have is the English equivalent spelt phonetically, crazy... Ta
