Love this cover version by Dexys. From the beautiful album of Irish cover versions and country songs. This track is excellent and the video shows the band having a good time. First Class Dexys. The lady who sings the main vocals has a beautiful strong voice and elevates the song to another level. Her name is Mary ???. I have always loved Dexys since 1980 when the brass sound of their first album blew me away. Their new album, the Feminine Devine is a slow burner for me although 'my submission' is the outstanding track. In a way it reminds of when Don't Stand Me Down was released in 85 which took me a few years to get and that album is now regarded as a masterpiece. Love, Love, Love x

I remember seeing them it was late 79 or early 80 in Manchester I was going through a skinhead fase, I asked one of their roadies what type of music they played when he said soul, to be honest I thought I would not enjoy it, but when I heard that powerful wall of brass the hair on the back of my neck stood right up that night changed my life that was a Friday night next morning I went to Ashton and bought their 1st album
