Dexys Live In '82: 'Show Me'

We're going on another trip back to Germany in 1982 and a performance of another song from a previous era - although this time it's a fairly faithful rendition with half of the line-up (Rowland, Adams, Billingham and Shelton) having played on the original recording a year earlier...

"Show Me" represented the most successful release of the 1981-era "Projected Passion Revue" Dexys, taking them to the Top Twenty of the U.K. charts in an otherwise barren period for commercial success. It would be the last time Dexys would scale those dizzy heights before the release of "Come On Eileen" in July 1982.

Unlike most of the Dexys material from 1981, of course "Show Me" didn't make it onto "Too Rye Ay" although the inclusion of the 'answer song' "I'll Show You" kept its lyrical themes alive.

5 days later I saw them playing in Köln (Cologne), West Germany, at the "Stadthalle Mülheim".
I was 17, and it was my first concert ever! Unforgettable.
