This is actually one of my favorite scenes from "I Know". It's sad that they were just starting to get close again and then Helen dies. You can see in "I Still Know" that Julie keeps a picture of Helen by her bed:)

The message in this scene really shows the reality of what happens when you leave high school and you lose contact with your friends. It’s like you guys don’t even know each other anymore. It fucking sucks.

It's so tragic that Helen ended up going to her grave with Julie never giving her 'peace'. That would have been an interesting dynamic for Julie's guilt in Part 2 instead of a karaoke queen.

I knew it. Julie's distant behavior was because she was forced into the whole mess and Helen played a part in that as well. While Helen seemed to have wanted to patch things up, Julie didn't replicate the feelings. Helen just assuming he was trying attempted suicide didn't help matters one bit as she was still being selfish and not acting on the matter at hand. As for Julie having that picture by her bedside later on she's clearly guilty about not making peace. I'm unsure if she always secretly desired that friendship but the cold and distant behavior was to try and move on or she didn't fully appreciate the friendship until it was gone.

The only really good and heartfelt scene in this movie. You can tell Sarah and Jennifer had a great friendship to pull something like this off.

I can relate to this clip because I used to be friends with this guy. We used to be really good friends at the beginning of the year. and then he got more friends and now he doesn't really like me any more. :(

Sarah Michelle Gellar captures the vulnerabuility but then also the embarassment and pride Helen goes through in this scene so well. Helen's character was lonely and sad. She wasn't a bad person like Barry. She needed Julie back in her life.
