Fact that the keeper plate moved in with screws means no packing or blocking behind plate. So theif can wedge open . It needs packers...at least some spray foam

If you're building a new door frame you can put a block in the space behind the trim for extra support there.

Just a tip unscrew the hinge and put 2 x 3inch behind hinge then rescrew hinge and use 1 x3 inch screw through one of the hinge screw holes, also take off door stop and screw top middle and bottom 3 Inch screw counter sink .do not over tighten as it will distort door jam, then reinstall door stop, screws will be hidden behind door jam.

Do it to the knob plate and hinges also, this is crazy by itself. The longer hinge screws will also keep the latch side from sagging.

It makes sense on a door with no window. If they really wanted to get in then breaking the glass and unlocking the door seems easier.

It helps if the carpenter actuallu fixed the frame using the right amount of shims in the first place

Yes no one installs the door properly...most good locksets come with the longer screws and so do doors with their longer hinge screws but most of the time they just get tossed

When you install a door, you'll see that the hole is all the way through the door frame and there's a metal plate on the other side of that door frame, the dead bolt is long enough to go through that metal plate so there's no need for longer screws, the metal plate does the job better then screws.

That does nothing, you have windows, there's even one in door where the lock can be undone through, Wasting your time

This also make it harder for emergency services to get in so think carefully before doing this.

safer from what? the rare robber that has decided he will kick in your door, but only if it isn't too hard and he absolutely will refuse going in through a window?
