1974 Oldsmobile 98 Luxury Junkyard Find. Here is another first for me in the channel. This 74 Olds 98 Luxury 2 door was mostly all there but in pretty bad shape. Used and Abused is what I would call it. The whole car was rough for the most part. The exterior looked to have had some shady body work. The interior was trashed. There was rust. and then there was the 455. Bad luck for me again with Oldsmobile. Well at least I did find some more tools.

It looks like one fender was changed at some point, as the left side marker light was equipped with a cornering lamp while the right side was not! A very elegant vehicle in its day.

Owned a 75 delta 88 royale, 350 4 barrel. Red with a white top convertible. Loved that car. Wish I still had it lol

My first wife's stepfather Jack had a 1974 Olds 98 Regency four-door hardtop canyon copper with chocolate brown velor interior. I loved that car. Back in those days cars actually had looks, Style and their own personalities. Nowadays everything is a generic bubble shape. GM dumped two of their best divisions Pontiac and Oldsmobile.

Talk about an unfinished project! Sucks on the missing 455, the replacement engine looks puny in the car.
Looks like there's a lot of stuff to hide under the bodywork, I'm surprised the front end is straight! The mirror temp gauge is a famous option for the Eldorados of the era, too bad it's sunbaked tho.
I like it when you show off your tools, keep at em! Seems like you forgot to mention the pair of emblems, but oh well!

Whoa Nelley, another moldy oldie. Rough and rotten, you're not kidding. You're pronouncing "bezels" correctly. LOL. It's not "BEEEZELS" it's "Bezels". Vulcan is USA, that is a good old time brand. Good haul on the tools. Here we go, VIN is 3 for Oldsmobile, V for 98 Luxury (the "base" 98 if you will), 37 for two door, T (not 7) for 455 V8 with four barrel, 4 for 1974, M for Lansing, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. Trim tag should be (in no order) ST74 for 1974, 3CV37 for Olds 98 Luxury, can't make out the interior code, it is possibly 79C which would be Claret/Ruby Red, AM6 is a seating code, should be split bench, B84 I believe is an exterior molding code, I thought I saw 09C which is third week of September 1973 production, LAN is Lansing MI assembly, and 74 on the exterior paint should be Cranberry Metallic, a burgundy type red.

So, this was a red exterior/red interior 1974 Olds 98 Luxury two door and it originally had a 455 V8 with a 4 barrel (of course, it was Oldsmobile produced) and it was assembled at Lansing MI on the third week of September 1973.

Thats a 73-76 350 with a dual jet. Also that is the updated alternator bracket that came out in the late 80s, came off a 307. Dads wagon has that bracket on the 90 wagon.
