How to become a systems administrator? How to become a systems engineer? What is actually the difference between an IT systems administrator and an IT systems administrator? In this video I will explain what different type of work a system administrator does and what a system engineer does.

Nowadays a lot of people use the title systems administrator and systems engineer interchangeably - which is not technically correct as the official definition for each job is quite different.

If you want to get into IT to become a systems engineer it is important to understand the difference between a systems engineer and a systems administrator.

To answer a question requested below, "Does that means system administrator is in a sense of overqualified computer operator?" Absolutely not, a System Administrator (SA) is an individual with experience and documented history of operation across the platforms your organization may be utilizing. Moreover, an SA should be able to confidently troubleshoot and administer a solution should an issue arise. A computer operator is just that, they operate a computer system that is used to help facilitate functions of a business. I hope this clears up some misunderstandings, but understand, depending on where you work your role as an SA may be different.

I see that with Network Engineer job titles that are really glorified Networkadmin roles. I've even seen Desktop Support Engineer too. Lol job titles really lost their real true meaning these days.
