As someone who loves animals from the plistocince era I love these tabs animals they are actually pretty accurate for a tabs mod which makes them all the more cooler. Like the smilodon (love they are using the scientific names) slowly sneaking up on the enemy because smilodon’s were really slow but really strong so they snuck up on their prey

I love the Smilodon's unique ability, like the point of a melee unit is to close the distance against range units (or in the tribal faction's case ranged AOE units) so this is absolutely effective

Those birds at the start were Kelenken, the largest genus of terror birds, growing up to 2.5 meters tall. Imagine an Ostrich but carnivorous with a huge hooked bill and talons. Luckily for us, Kelenken went extinct long before humans were around.

The next animal featured was Daeodon, a genus of Entelodont, which was a family of predatory even-toed ungulates. That made them more closely related to animals like pigs and deer (also "ungulate" just means "animal with hooves"). Daeodon lived during the Miocene, which means they also went extinct before humans existed.

The third animal shown was Smilodon, an extinct genus of cat that belonged to the sub family of Machairodontinae, which went extinct at the end of the Pleistocene. They're the animals you think of when you hear the term "sabertooth cat." There are 3 species of Smilodon, S. populator being the largest and most famous. Smilodon populator is the largest species of cat ever discovered, weighing over 400 kilograms and a shoulder height of 1.2 meters. They had 28 centimeter long canine teeth that they used to slice the jugular of their prey.

The fourth animal is Bison latifrons, an extinct species of Bison that lived during the Pleistocene. They're like modern Bison but way bigger, with a weight of 2, 000 kg. and a height of 2.5 m. at the shoulder. These huge herbivores were widespread all throughout North America. Some experts think early humans were one of the causes of its eventual extinction.

Fun fact: Smilodon appears to have lived in packs and had a social structure like modern lions. They were unlike tigers and all other living cats, which are solitary hunters. Occasional finds of sabertooth-sized holes in Smilodon bones suggest the social life of Smilodon was not always peaceful.

Fun fact 2: Smilodon was a large animal that weighed 160 to 280 kg (350-620 lbs), larger than lions and about the size of Siberian tigers. Smilodon was different from living large cats, with proportionally longer front legs and a much more muscular build. Its upper canine teeth are long, flat and daggerlike.

The Kelenken is the largest of the phorusrhacids, commonly called terror birds. The version in this game is actually quite a bit smaller than the real animal.

These units were all actually really well made and I can see each having a lot of uses. The stealth gimmick of the Smilodon is something I hope TABS adds to a main game unit in the future, and the whole fighting the unit before unlocking it like the Greater Dragon is so cool! These mods are getting amazing and I hope TABS takes some notes from them when making future factions.
