In the 1800's a biologist went on an expedition to study penguins and other South Pole area wildlife. What he saw penguins do was so vile he decided it was best to write the penguin section of his book in latin so he wouldn't be shunned by polite society.

Fun fact: the oils on our skin makes physical contact very unpleasant for most bugs, they think we're slimy

Vultures are massively underrated, they are like the janitors of nature. And due to bio magnification, harmful chemicals dumped by humans “go up” the food chain, ultimately making vultures eat the chemicals that their food collected in their lifetimes. The Californian Condor almost was wiped out because of this

On the contrary, if a spider is in your house, that just means it's food source is ALSO inside your house.

Extra bird misconception:

Owls are actually quite stupid even for birds, despite usually being portrayed as wise in most media. Their brains are simple and small even by bird standards.

Birds in the family of Corvids are the actually smart ones, having simple communications and languages complete with regional dialects, and have been known to use rudimentary tools.

Consider that birds are literally dinosaurs that survived a few world ending scenarios and still around us, how not be terrified of them?

I feel like snakes need a massive shoutout here, in media everyone views them as hostile man eating predators that will attack you with no reason. Stuff like them sizing up prey, mambas chasing people etc etc are ALL lies

Actual snakes are pretty chill and just wanna be left alone. No snake wants to bite and even if they do, a lot of venomous ones dry bite because they literally don’t want to use their venom. They don’t rattle/hiss/hood etc because they WANT to hurt you, it’s just them telling you “ok I’m scared soo please leave me alone”. They literally couldn’t care less about you existing if you was far enough away from them and if they are raised around human contact, then congratulations you have a new sofa companion.

I’ve kept and studied snakes for most of my life, I’ve worked with over 10 separate species at one point in my life and currently have 3, a 14ft burmese Python included (which is a sweetheart). honestly, there’s no more misunderstood animal in my eyes. Little dudes are literally the opposite of what people think they are

Last one about birds is half true, it isn't that the smell bothers the birds, since as you said, they can't really smell much at all. If the mother bird sees you touching or messing with their nest, they might abandon their nest entirely, and let the baby bird die of starvation. Same outcome, different reason.

Geese *could* fuck up your day with their teeth and claws, but 1 wrong move and it’s game-over for them, so they’ll rarely actually attack. Instead they’ll act like they’re going to attack and hope they roll high enough on their intimidation check.

6:10 dolphins DO attack humans, mostly in captivity because they get hella depressed with such a small space and once they've had enough, the closest human will become their chew toy. multiple cases have been shown of them dragging humans down under water to drown them, then letting them go so they can swim up, catch their breath then drag them down again. there was a girl who got dragged by her ponytail, i think she drowned. The people watching thought it was part of a play and she acted like it was the first time and then she started panicing. A lucky guy got dragged down by his foot over and over again and survived but his foot was mangled afterwards. The usual trigger is that they hear the clanking of the bottom of the fish bucket which means no more or less food as a reward.
Oh and they ra - pe each other and bully pufferfish solely to get high on their poison. :)

One harmful (to the animal) stereotype of a fluffy cute animal that comes to mind, is how bugs bunny popularized the idea that bunnies eat mostly carrots, when they actually don't contain near any good nutrients for them. Bunnies' main diet should be hay, carrots are only good as treats for them in small quantities
