“How long?”
“It was fine”
That response kills me

The way the Doctor says "I have a duty of care", as if he's simply stating a fact of the universe. It is a fact of HIS universe.

4.5 billion years to save her. That's real love. Man, Hell Bent is incredible.

"You are hated by everyone, but by nobody more than me" is a nice inversion of River song's line in The Wedding of River Song

I love Clara’s reaction to learning how long the Doctor was trapped. She’s not grateful, she’s not happy, she’s shocked he would put himself through that for her, horrified by what he went through, guilty he went through it, and not at all happy he did it because then SHE would seem selfish and like she took advantage of him. Humans are complex, but there aren’t words to describe how she feels here
Edit: not only that, imagine knowing your friend spent 4 and a half billion years in hell just to save you. Saying that’s a long time is an understatement. To humans, who have such a short lifespan, a year or 2 is a long time, so 4 BILLION years is nearly incomprehensible in terms of how unbelievably long that is, and The Doctor willingly spent that long in his own person hell in order to save Clara. It’s very obvious she’s not gonna be grateful he tortured himself for that long just to save someone who was already dead, anyone would be absolutely horrified to learn their friend put themselves in that kind of pain for them. She’s not supposed to be grateful

One of my favourite scenes from who. When they tell her that he spent 4.5 billion years in the confession dail, the look of disgust is striking. I wanted her to spit at their feet because she realised how despicable the timelords are... loved it

I love that, even when stealing a Tardis, he leaves the breaks on.

Jenna Coleman is such an underrated actress. She single-handedly carried this entire scene with her facial expressions alone

1:45 The exact moment it finally hits Clara. This is the moment she finally realizes that every time he said "I have a duty of care", he was actually saying "I love you".

I know quite a few people dont like Clara for whatever reason, but the moment when Clara finds out that the doctor spent 4.5 billion years in the confession dial is right up there with my favourite moments in all of Doctor Who.

"You. Are... Hated." I love this line and the looks on the timelord's faces knowing she is right. They are monsters and clara shoving it back in thier face just how much they are hated and despised universally is amazing. This scene is so good. Then showing them just how little intelligence, these being who think they are mightier then everyone else, just how stuiped they are compared to her is amazing.

Jenna is such an amazing actress. The subtlety of her facial expressions when she finds out just how long he was in the confession dial always blows me away

That look she gives them. That is a great moment where a human stands in judgement over the timelords. And with that one look.. the shame they have.

When someone says that the Doctor didn't love Clara, I show them this.

Steven Moffat was right when he said the best scene from Heaven Sent was in Hell Bent. You’d struggle to find a scene that sums up the Doctor better than these four minutes.

I love this because at the start of Capaldi's run, Clara questioned whether she meant anything to the Doctor, or if any of his companions did at all. She felt that they were nothing to him because they're just humans and eventually they die. He's seen them all die.

But this proves her wrong. The Doctor does care about her and all of his companions. He cares enough to spend endless eons trapped and alone, just to save one human

3:44 A rarely seen Gallifreyan boom mic above Clara’s head there

"don't you think the universe owes me this?" mirrors Clara's "i am owed" in Dark Water

"all you're doing is giving her hope" "since when is hope a bad thing?" is later recalled in the end of Eaters of Light "that's the trouble with hope, it's hard to resist"

Clara saw 3 doctors make a mockery of the concept of time in conflict. The war doctor stalling in the Time War, 11 fighting in Christmas for centuries, and 12 cheating the time dial prison.
