Medicaid Expansion and the Unwinding: How is it Going and Who is Being Impacted?

In this session Professor McBride reviews the experience in Missouri since expanding Medicaid in 2021. How many people have been covered and how is it going? What is the impact on the insured and health providers? More recently, with the end of the pandemic being declared in 2023, the U.S. began the process of “unwinding” those added to Medicaid during the pandemic. We'll discuss how, in Missouri, almost two hundred thousand have lost their coverage and implications for the future.
