I do think Charles did love her in some way... let's not forget that he did go and bring her home to be buried and at peace... the Crown didn't want that, he demanded and saw it through... I've always said that Charles really did love her. He just wasn't 'in love' with her. And if they had hooked up, several years later than they did, I believe that they could've made it work. Diana would have been mature and handled things differently. And Charles would've appreciated what she brought to the table.
