Fujian, also known as the Type 003 aircraft carrier, is a Chinese aircraft carrier that is currently being outfitted for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) of China. It was given its name after the province of Fujian. The Fujian, China's first wholly indigenously designed aircraft carrier, launched on June 17, 2022. Fujian is China's first aircraft carrier which features a CATOBAR system in addition to electromagnetic catapults. Its introduction has solidified China's status as a leading competitor among shipbuilding firms worldwide.
Because of the COVID shutdown in Shanghai, the launch of the Fujian, which is China's first domestically designed and built catapult aircraft carrier, was delayed by two months. It was supposed to be released on April 23, when the People's Liberation Army Navy was celebrating its 73rd anniversary.
The Fujian has a displacement of more than 80,000 tonnes. According to naval experts, it may take some time for Fujian to become operational. By 2025, PLAN may start sending aircraft carriers to the Indian Ocean.

the catapults in 003 is 10-15 meters longer then US ones, might be able to send heavier loader in use. The radar is one of the best as well.

China is catching up very fast technologically wise, experience in using such tech will take time. Personally don't think China envisages a carrier fleet as large as the 🇺🇸 's, as it simply doesn't require one! 6 to maybe 8 of this class would be sufficient in the future for their needs! I see the comments make me laugh, Not this video. Some comments said is not nuclear so will be range limit. Is truth but he or she don't know why only he or she opinions. First China can build nuclear submarine that's mean can build nuclear carrier but why not? Do you know how many Us military base in Asian alone? From breakdowns of the Chinese EMALS systems from other videos the Chines are having major problems with the units on the ship being unreliable and unstable in there power output. They have worked only using dock power with test sleds. The ship may not generate enough power for continuous high volume operation. This maybe one of the reasons the ship has not put to sea because it would show the ship can not conduct air operations. Remember it is harder to transmit DC power then it is AC power even over short distance. The Chinese fleet has had problems with the quality of the steel used in its ship constructions. The type 002 carrier is no exception and this appears to carried over to the type 003. This just shows you can't steal your way to success you have to do the work. Chine may have better luck on the type 004 in 15 to 20years if they can learn from their mistakes.
