Lab Scissor lift mod

After buying a terrible scissor lift from eBay (Got half refund). One day I decided to see if I could do something simple and cheap to correct the imbalance that made it useless.
I drilled 8 holes to fit the bamboo rods I already had and attached them all to a base. The black tips on the rods indicated where the upper limit was.

My longest router bit is 40mm so that’s all the platform would have to lift vertically when level with the router table plate surface, +/- say 5mm shank variations. Given that the base position of the lift is a variable i.e. fixed by the user, why would the lift have to move any more than this from its folded position. In your video the unit is extended way beyond a height that is practical… ✌️
