Ordered the part, watched the video.  Had a small problem removing the existing control board but finally got it out.  Installed new panel and dishwasher worked again.  Thanks for the video and the diagnostic help.

> we have an older Bosch and I ran into some differences from the video - our model # is SHX45P05UC/53
> take pictures of the wiring as recommended
> in addition, I labeled the wiring for each plug A, B, C, D etc from left to right to help me get the plugs back in the correct position
> I found that removing all the wiring plugs and completely separating the Control Panel from the door was very helpful.
> the wiring plugs connected to the Control Board on our dishwasher are held in place by tangs. The plugs on my dishwasher would not simply pull out as shown in the video. I had to use a small flat blade screw driver to lift the tang which allowed me to remove the plugs.
> I had a difficult time removing the Control Box. In order to remove the Control Box, Step 1 - turn the Control Panel over so the Control Box is upside down. There is a metal plate below the Control Box. Our metal plate has two holes about the size of dimes. In the center of each of these dime-sized holes are metal tabs which hold the Control Box in place. With a flat blade screw driver, gently lift these tabs up until they no longer hold the Control Box in place. Step 2 - turn the Control Panel back right side up. We have two black plastic arms a couple of inches long running along the sides of the Control Box. These also hold the Control Box in place. Using the flat blade screw driver again, gently pry these away from the side of the Control Box. It helps to have a helper for this so one person can pry the two plastic arms on each side of the Control Box and the other person can pull the Control Box away from the Control Panel. We now had the old Control Box completely removed from the Control Panel.
> Pull the buttons straight out from the old Control Box one at a time and reinstall onto the new Control Box in the same location.
> At this point, slide the new Control Box into place in the Control Panel. Remember to flip over the Control Panel and press down on the metal tabs on the underside to help hold the Control Box in place. Reconnect all the wiring plugs in order from left to right, A, B, C, D and then re-install the Control Panel and the front door exactly as shown in the video.
> Our new Control Box has our Bosch dishwasher working perfectly. Thanks for the video and I hope these steps not shown on the video may help others.

While my dishwasher was not exactly like this one it, the video gave a clear indication of what to expect and I was able to do the job. Like others have suggested, do take pictures of the wiring, and note the exact order of disassembly to help you put it back together again.

On my model the main control dial stays in the plastic front panel when you take the control panel off. When putting it back together, note the moulding on the back of the dial and the cross on the spigot into the control panel to realign correctly.

It looks like they are near the top of the board. If you go to our website and put the part number in you can see a picture of it.

When replacing the bosch diswasher panel cover - where the cover is separate from the control board, the button have letters on them so you can match them up with the new cover - found out the hard way but it is all good now

Make sure when replacing the front door panel that the lower seal flap is not trapped by the door panel and is outside of the panel. That way, it all goes back together easily. Otherwise it won't snap in. Also be sure that if replacing the Styrofoam block on the inside of the door panel is not preventing the panel from fitting.

We recommend doing a Google search for the error codes you're seeing. There are many good forums out there that will give you more information about those error codes.

This video showed me the basics for replacing the large plastic upper trim piece. The procedure is the same, remove the 6 stainless steel screws to release the front fascia panel. You can then see the 4 screws holding the upper trim in place. Remove those and lift off your broken trim. You will have to swap over the button tabs for the different settings and the larger power button to your new trim. Then reinstall, reversing the steps. The upper plastic trim piece cost me about $76 from Bosche but it was the OEM part and fit perfectly.

I have seen many articles where it indicates a new control module requires programming. How can this be determined? Would a repair tech have to do this?

Very well-made video! Thanks.
One question: Is this disassembly similar to other Bosch dishwashers? I have a model SHV46C03UC/14 (module is 488428). If it is similar, it should be quite easy.

What type of screw driver do you use to remove the screws that hold the door panel on?

I have an older bosch model and is not cleaning the dishes. It pre-washes but doesn't wash (the detergent is at the bottom on the washer fully intact) and the rinse aide light is always lit. Could this be an issue with the main control board?

I am assuming this is for all Bosch washers? I have a SHE56C02UC/40
I thought maybe it was the heating element however I'm thinking like many people with this issue the board has burnt out.
