Masataka WATANABE / Associate professor at the University of Tokyo School of Engineering
Masataka was born in 1970 in Chiba. He got a doctoral degree from the University of Tokyo School of Engineering in 1998, becoming an associate professor in 2002. After he served as a researcher of Caltech, MPI, he assumed his current position.

With the approach of new brain machine interfaces hopefully some new experiments into splitting consciousness could be undertaken, although I fear 20 years may be too optimistic for such a unique field of science....nothing wrong with hoping I suppose.

Is it possible that our conciousness originates from somewhere else and we're just being animated by it like avatars from some unknown channels.

If 2 conscious can co exist then we are in a win situation, we have to make a digital copy of ourselves so we overcome this body.

the only way this isn't used to exploit and extort people is if it's open source and even then I doubt you would want anyone hacking into you digital environment to torture you.

Technologies that will always be impossible until the end of time and that are eternally impossible NOT just temporarily impossible which are:

1) Creating ancestor simulations or simulating realities
2) Simulating consciousness or self awareness
3) Uploading your consciousness or self awareness into a computer, robot, machine or simulator
4) Creating conscious or self aware robots
5) Making beings in a computer, video game or simulator conscious or self aware
6) Creating artificial consciousness or self awareness
7) Being conscious in a computer, robot, machine or simulation
8) Putting your consciousness or self awareness into a computer, robot, simulation or machine


All other technologies might be possible in the future excluding the 8 types of technologies mentioned above. The reason why think those 8 types of technologies mentioned above are impossible because I don't think we are living in a simulation and is one of those 8 types of technologies mentioned above are possible, then we are most likely living in a simulation because any advanced civilisations with any of those types technologies would be able and capable of running ancestor simulations or creating simulated realities with conscious or self awareness beings in. Only biological beings can be conscious or self aware.

Mind uploading is not possible no matter how he or others explain. You mind consciousness nor your soul existence is not some piece of material that can transfer to something that is not alive. If they try the idea of mind upload in the future it would be 100% fatal to everyone who does this and it wouldn't be them. The REAL person will die and pass on; while ai will copy a replica of you that is somewhat replacing who you were. Enjoy the one life you've been givin in life
