I think you misunderstood the original Quora question. I think they meant, do you need to use two PCI-E cables EACH connected from the PSU then, one connector from each, plugged into the graphics card. Of course, no-one is going to plug in one split cable, from the main connector. Please make a more accurate video addressing the REAL question.

These would make your PC fire hazard. If you have a 200watt GPU one port is hadling 20Amps of power. That's way above the limit of a 20 awg cable.

You dont need two pcie cables but if ur going to overclock you need more power and plugging in two even if not overclocking gives you better utilization
