Mobs Storm Two Israeli Bases as Soldiers Detained Over Abuse Charges, IDF Chief Warns Of Anarchy

Israelis broke into a military base where soldiers detained on suspicion of abusing a Palestinian detainee were taken for questioning. This came hours after the Sde Teiman base was stormed by a right-wing mob fuming over the arrests. After moving the soldiers from Sde Teiman to Beit Lid, many protesters there also broke into the base which houses the Military Police and some IDF courts. These anarchic situations of mass break-ins were allegedly provoked by several members of PM Netanyahu’s ruling coalition. Some leaders from the ruling coalition took part in forcible entries and were slammed by the Israel Defence Forces’ chief Herzi Halevi. Right-wing lawmakers including Itamar Ben Gvir, Amichay Eliyahu and MK Zvi Sukkot allegedly provoked the supporters.
