Secret Island of Daggerfall

After doing some testing/exploring I found a secret island of Daggerfall. I don't think anyone was supposed to find this without the use of commands. From your small ship, you can see the hidden location as a spec on the horizon. Inside this secret place, you find Daedra, Vampires, and a Gargoyle all encapsulated in a void room.

That's the Mantellan Crux, the final dungeon in the game and the one that Nulfaga teleports you to. But my assumption is that the game needs some door in the overworld/wilderness to define as the entrance, but the devs didn't want it to be near anything the player might come across normally. So, it might be that the devs stuck a physical entrance to the Mantellan Crux sorta as a starting point to build the dungeon blocks, but instead of having the player come across the dungeon, they gave Nulfaga the same function during Journey to Aetherius as they do to the mages that can teleport you once you reach a certain rank in the Mages Guild.

Looking around, that is a backdoor to the final dungeon. Is meant to be used by the devs.

I love little hidden mysteries like this in game. Makes me wonder if there are some godly/angelic "dev" rooms scattered throughout our Universe.

I really like videos like this cause it reminds me that even if you find something that's already known about, just the feeling of discovering something on your own is such a great feeling.

Oh yeah, I remember finding this as a kid too when I obsessively researched the world map. It shocked me so badly that I couldn't explore more than a few rooms in. Thankfully so, that I didn't spoil the end dungeon before actually finishing the game.

If daggerfall had some minor additions to encourage exploration it would be one of the best rpgs hands down

ha, having seen the "games done quick" puri puri speed run first, this is just funny. almost like a weird trip back in time cause you know the first people to find this stuff back in OG daggerfall had to be saying the same stuff. xD

nearly every elder scrolls game has rooms like this the Skyrim one is the most famous though it has every item in the game and a room that spawns every enemy in the game.

this is insane, and as a gamedev I love this because it reminds me how valuable it can be to have unbalanced locations NOT designed to be beaten, and how these places can create amazing player experiences and challenges. is there truly no way to get down to that door legit? if not, it makes me want to make a "arbitrary zipline" mod, where you can create a taut line between your starting location and the outer wall, based on how much rope material you have, then climb across, attach another rope, and lower yourself. I'll make sure to include that mechanic by default in my games #AgeOfSingularity and #NotSSgame.
