Diolch yn fawr iawn for this! It´s wonderful to see young people helping to divulge the Welsh language over the web. Although I´m not a speaker of the language myself, I just would like to suggest you to check the pronunciation of some words so to as to make them closer to the native speakers´. Congratulations for your noble initiative, nevertheless, cause not too many youths are interested in preserving the precious Celtic languages of the British Isles!!

What the viewers of this video should know is that this person is a learner, and is reading these phrases off a card or screen it seems (I'm a native speaker). The pronounciation of many of the words is incorrect, and judging by the delivery I would say he is lower-intermediate level. There's nothing wrong with learners creating language learning channels, but I think it would have helped if he was more upfront about it in the description.

Like many US-Americans, I'm an ethnic-mutt: 1/4 English, 1/4 Welsh, 1/4 Walloon, and 1/4 German. I wish I'd taken an interest in my Welsh heritage sooner. Yes, I know it's not "pragmatic, " unless you live in North Wales--but I love the sound of the language and its literary heritage.

in my choir 32 welsh boys, only 4 welsh speakers. the welsh speakers argued endlessly about the correct pronunciation. so the english MD told us what to sing.

Being a Welsh speaker myself, it's lovely seeing it on here. :)

P.S. Ydych chi'n siarad Cymraeg yn rhugl? Ddylwn i ddim dweud hyn, ond dydw i byth wedi clywed y Gymraeg wedi'i dweud fel yr ydych chi'n gwneud, ond dydw i ddim yn siarad Cymraeg yn aml â phobl eraill fy hunain! Hoffwn i weld mwy o fideos Cymraeg, yma ac ar y wê beth bynnag - does dim digon o gwbl!

I wish the whole of the UK learnt Brythonic languages alongside English. English is really just a weird mash of old German, French, Norse and Latin.

I listened to a BBC program for learning welsh called Catchphrase and I believe it must've been based on the South Wales pronunciation. But anyway!

Daniel ydw i. Dwi'n byw ym Mhlant City, Florida! (Plant City).

In South Wales I guess they say Shw mae?

From the very, very little I have looked at Welsh so far, I have to say it is a rather easy language to pick up.

It follows a lot of basic rules English follows, there are a lot of gaps that get filled in with English words.

It's a very fun language to learn, I would recommend it.
