Most of Germany's tanks in Operation Barbarossa were light tanks and they did pretty well in encircling entire Soviet armies.

Did some testing on fuel drums. If you have a lot of armor and a somewhat limited supply of oil, the fuel drums act as a storage for your units when oil is sporadic. They are absolutely worth it. Stack them on your armored recon or flame tanks and it will help you immensely.

If you put a flame tank in your div you can load that up with fuel barrels to save the space on your main tanks

I always use fuel drums for example when you are talking about advancing deep in Russia.

i ussualy put those light tanks in recon company later when i have the industrial power

I tested it out, and i am not satisfied, its better to have a limited amount of dissently armoured medium tanks than berrly armoured light tanks that go as fast as truck. 95% percent of time tanks spend fighting enemy divisions and 5% encerceling it.

Not to mention it is strrugle for supply lines, this divisions spend lot of fuel, so you are better of using tank divisions combined with infantry, cavalary or bycicle brigades.

If your country is poor and it doesnt have factories for medium or heavy tanks, it's better to just arm your divisions with artilery


Here is how my game gone, i played as yugoslavia, conqured bulgaria and now i turned on albania and italy, my light tanks made a breakthrough, and they were going fast for ports, but they were counter attacked and losed they organisation incredebly fast as they have 8 armour instead of 50. Maybe the only thing i could of improved is to add anti-air cannons.

I'm gonna be honest, these tanks are good for SP, but they're not the best.

For Light Tanks, you should stick with either the improved or basic chassie, advanced is too expensive and unnecessary, reliability is important but not as important as you think. Plus, why build expensive reliable tanks, when u can have lots of tanks and quickly any loses from reliability.

Armor is not worth it, unless you're in SP. Any division worth any salt should pierce light tanks, even AA prob can do it.

In most cases Medium Tanks are better then light tank, so if you're going light tank, you should be building lots of them. Good' old soviet wave.
