anohana is overated

For the longest time, people have been hyping up Anohana to the high high heavens, people even said they cried for the first time while watching it, and it got me to watch Anohana itself... but to my surprise... It was GARBAGE.

bad + annoying characters,
unreasonable + unrealistic plot development,
I get completely bored most of the time with no intention to watch

But in short terms i feel like i liked the anime and was able to relate to it emotionally is because when i was around that same age i lost someone I loved and honestly the way you say they should just get over it is unrealistic they lost menma but they also lost each other which is why it cause a bit of a personality switch in all of then

i find the anime incredibly realistic, to an uncanny level even, and i think all the main and relevant suporting cast have incredible depth
i understand that people who never had a childhood friend group similar to the one in the show might not relate or understand the characters as well, but regardless pretty much everything in the show is done perfectly

1. the characters are still mourning after 5 years because they all blame themselves over what happened and never had the opportunity to talk about it properly with others, in the end no one is at fault but they cant see it that way

2. its a ghost, it doesnt need a 100% complete reason to just appear and thats not the point of the show anyway, some animes do that and thats perfectly fine

3. i agree with the thing about menma proving to them that shes real earlier in the show, (that can maybe be explained by everyone being in shock or unconfortable with the situation, but im not gonna go that route either)

4. you failed to understand yukiatsu's reasoning to do the crossdressing thing, his obssession was not about if he loved menma or not, it was his way of coping with the trauma

5. yes, it was supposed to be embarrassing, and if you felt cringe then the anime did that scene right
a lot of animes do this for the same reason

This is anime is mainstream that's why this is a popular because of that and since most people are pussyies overseas and get easily emotional. And if you are long enough in the community you won't cry because you will except what will happen and then there is sooo much mena focused .. only thing I liked about is the dad because he had tanjirou kind of chracter . But people liked it I watched completly lastly plot are huge as well
