10 Cities People NEVER REGRET Moving to.

Have you moved to another city in the last 5 years? What city was it and are you happy with the move? This was a question I asked in a survey earlier this year. I received over 4700 responses and I had an optional section for people to leave a comment about their move. About 31% left a comment.

As I said in the state version of this video, People are different and these surveys are based on opinions. It isn’t math, there isn’t a single answer. And honestly, that is my favorite part about human beings. We are all different with many opinions, and different experiences. And that’s OK. Just because you and all your friends in the mobile home park hate Seattle doesn’t mean everyone does.
Even though I have never in the title all of us normal-thinking adults understand that is just a title that sounds better than “10 Cities a bunch of people said they don’t regret moving to most days”
So just like the states people never regret moving to, I will list the cities with the most votes and the reasons that seemed to pop up most often.

Do you need a local Realtor for the area you want to move to?

Pro tip if you're moving somewhere that gets cold in the winter. Get a place with a garage (preferably attached) and keep your car in it. If that's not in your budget and you're coming from somewhere warmer, you might want to rethink.

I fell in love with Madison the instant I visited. After living here for 34 years, I still regret having to scrape ice and snow off my window far too often. I have visited San Diego a couple of times, it is always 75 and sunny. Great vibe! I love that city as well! Great video Briggs!

The weather in San Diego is VERY diffferent in the summer between the coast and inland areas. A 5 mile strip along the coast has very different weather than say 15 miles inland during the summer (and on winter nights). So be warned.

I retired 7 years ago & chose to hunker down in San Diego. No regrets, I love it. Yes, the weather, #1 reason. You've got nature, Ocean, Mountains, Lakes, great food & events, it's a stay-cation paradise. Prior to retirement I lived & worked in Northern California, Napa, Monterey & Silicon Valley. Loved all these places in Cali !

Crazy to think a city in Alabama beat San Diego😅. I absolutely regret leaving San Diego. Hands down best place to live in the US.

I currently live in Montgomery, AL and I've been planning on moving to Huntsville. I was looking at the housing prices and was shocked that they were so cheap compared to the prices in Montgomery. Especially considering how nice Huntsville is.

I moved to sarasota 3 years ago and definitely now regret it. Weather is great, city is beautiful, but the area is very dense/overcrowded and the city just can't handle the amount of people moving here. The cost of living is sky rocketing. Traffic is everywhere even without the tourist season.

Not surprised to see Huntsville, AL as #1.
Spent 2 weeks there attending special training sessions. Had a great time there. Very clean streets, friendly people, good restaurant and entertainment scene.

I've lived in San Diego and I currently live in Huntsville, AL. Living in San Diego is great - IF you can get a good job or are independently well off. Otherwise, you best like to walk in parks and watch a lot of TV. As far as crime and all that, I didn't have any problem while I was there. If you want to live in Paradise you best be prepared to accept that a lot of other people will also and you'll have to pay for it.

Huntsville is now the largest city in Alabama. (Largest with an asterisk - the city of Huntsville is now more populous than the city of Birmingham, but Huntsville metro is only about half the size of Birmingham metro.) Apartment and housing rentals have been rising markedly in the last few years. However there's currently an apartment building boom in the Huntsville area; prices should start to stabilize within a year or so.

Its universal.
No matter which country.

When i found my apartment 12 minutes from a bigger city with my social life etc...
I never regretted it...

Moved to Grand Junction, Colorado last year. I have lived in big cities my whole life, never again. I took 100 bucks at walmart at the registser, cash back, and forgot to grab it! An HOUR later i remembered, called, and they ACTUALLY had it for me. I LOVE CONSERVATIVE CITIES.

I've enjoyed the series of videos you did that surveyed how people feel about their recent move. I'm looking to move to a different part of the country, and I learned a lot of useful information.

One interesting idea would be to survey people who moved recently on whether or not they were happy with their move, then you could rate cities/states based on the proportion of people who were happy. The top 10 cities that had the highest proportion of people who were happy with their move might be different than the methodology that was used for this series of videos.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It's amazing, but getting more and more expensive. I'll probably move in a couple years, but for now, still fantastic.

There's actually people who are living in Sarasota, Florida who are needing to relocate due to being one of the most expensive towns to even rent in The United States Of America. Senior citizens attempting to live there on Social Security/fixed-income are not tamping a chance.

DFW was a better place when I moved here in early 2019 and found a great place to live close to work. During the surreal estate period of 2020 to 2022, the price of home jumped over 50% as people wanted a bigger place plus relocations from other areas. Traffic has also become more congested as well. You also have to be concerned with large sized hail more than tornadoes here as well.

Fwiw, Salt Lake City is coming up on a water crisis. A small city that is wonderful to live in is Marquette, Michigan. It's the largest city in the Upper Peninsula, on the shores of Lake Superior, very low crime, growing economy, beautiful, and an outdoor paradise. It is cold and snowy in the winter--moreso snowy than cold. It's actually much colder in Chicago, Minneapolis, other cities to the south. I have lived in a number of places, and this is the best by far, and I intend to stay here forever. I work from home, and a 10 minute drive gets me to the ski area, for example.
