Always tend to do a counter sunk hole first so screw is not protruding out and gives better pulling on the wood to the wall

I've read some of the comments and I have to disagree with one or two and agree with Matt Seymour that I would have counter sunk so that everything is flushed.
The young man NEVER claimed to cover all situations like uneven walls.
I would used a hoover to clean the hole though.
The Fixing he is demonstrating is called 'A Hammer Fixing 'for a reason.

The only difference is some people remove the screw and push the plug in 1st and then hammer the screw home. Others do it the way shown in the video. ☺

if your using these dont hammer in all the way as you dent the wood as he did, Either leave them sticking out about 1/2 inch the use Philips screw driver with a metal head then tap them in, or leave out 1/2 an inch then screw them in, good job he's not on my team, back to school for him.

That plug is not fully in the brick call me old fashioned, but I drill throught the wood so the wall is marked, then I fully drill the drick and sink the plug fully, and screw the scew into the plug, , solid have never in 35 years had anything fall off or move, , keep you modern ways !!!

Not so much step by step guide as a one step 'guide'. What if the wall is uneven, and shouldn't you clean the dust out of the hole before inserting the plug? 'Course I'm just a diy'er so don't know what I'm talking about.
