Hello friends and welcome to my third Bookmas video, which is just a chatty video going over my reading goals for the next year. I love sitting down and reflecting on my reading and setting new goals for myself, and even though reading is a hobby it's always good to challenge oneself! I also mention some (soft) channel goals for 2022 so if any of this interests you, I hope you enjoy!

I put up vague goals for my reading since I don't like to pressure myself to much. One vague goal is to read more new releases or books released this year. I plant to have a target of 30 books released in 2021 or 2022. Probably won't reach it but not feeling to pressured to reach that number.

Another vague goal is to continue to read more magical realism and gothic fiction. Two genres that interest me and I want to slowly read through the staples.

Some of my goals are:
-read 52 books (this might be hard since I’m in school and working, but we are going to try, I also want it to be more like I read 52 books that I haven’t already read yet and that I own)
-finish my lists of 20 books I want to read before I turn 20 in October
-read all the signed books I own
-don’t let my book subscription box books sit on my shelves for too long
-catch up with and finish 5 series that I already started
-start and finish 4 series that I own in entirety and haven’t started yet

I also keep my goodreads goal at 52 no matter how I do the year before! Every year is different and 52 is more than a huge portion of the population reads in a year. Some people don't even read one book!

the "ooo squirrel!" is too relatable with series 😂 Okay, wait, I'm so intrigued on the video essays! I'm finally gonna work on getting over my fear of big books with a goal of one book over 450 pages a month.

these are great goals. i've been wanting to do some vlogs so maybe some next year ...maybe not 😅52 books is a solid, stress free reading goal and leaves some wiggle room

I'm still thinking about my 2022 goals. I'm dropping my Goodsreads goal to 52, I made this years goal around Juneish I believe but I wasn't working then and well now I am. So I feel 52 is doable.
What I'm thinking about so far is:
a) working on series (like always) but not just recent ones, ones that I started YEARS ago.
b)reading the classics of science fiction/fantasy but classic classics, like Jules Verne, Daniel Defoe etc.
c)Working my way through War and Peace (still)
d)backlist books/series by authors I have read before and enjoyed.
e)Netgalley (like you my ratio is 💩)
f)continuing reading non fiction
g)my tbr vets
h)an unhaul project

Just my thoughts for now
