2022 Reading Goals | Zero TBR in Q1?

I don't make a lot of goals, but I do like to be ambitious.

Hi Rincey. Merry Christmas! I'm interested in hearing about how the No Buy is going. I don't even kid myself anymore--I absolutely *will buy books*. I have hundreds of books on my TBR, but sometimes just walking into a bookstore immediately turns around my mood from blue to better. I marvel at you for having no books on your TBR now, especially since you're a mood reader. I haven't decided what my reading goals are for 2022, but my mind is percolating. Books and reading are always at the forefront of my brain :-)

I filmed my goals video yesterday and spoiler alert I have none. I think the quarterly goals worked better for me as well this year, but also must admit that in the second half I scratched all goals and replaced them with basically "do what you can". Maybe I'll make more goal like goals later in the year.

Definitely up for some updates on your no buy year. My reading goal is similar, in that I want to get my levels of TBR down, but I went a bit crazy with charity shop book buying last year and there are piles of books everywhere so it's more like a 5 year goal!

Hi! Yes, I’m interested in a no tbr video. Not seeing that there would be much to update monthly—maybe do it quarterly?—but, as I’ve never really heard anyone talk about no tbr before, maybe there IS lots to say! And yes, I’d love a rundown of your tbr. My 2022 reading goals—haven’t thought about it, in a pandemic reading slump. I’ve adopted your practice of making quarterly goals (love it!) so I think my first quarter goal is to continue to be kind to myself during my slump and continue to try new things to break it (have done short stories and comics so far, and just dnf’ing at will and moving on). Happy holidays!

I like the "no buy year" - I did it for 2019 and 2020 and it was a success! 2021 was... well 🙈 but I think I want to try it again for 2022... good luck!! 🤞

I am finishing up a no-buy year. Last year I read every book I purchased after January 1st before December 31st. I learned a lot from both of these experiments but I did learn more from the no-buy year. I'm not doing another no-buy but I think my book buying will be very limited compared to what it was before.
