Ah Disney, the company with some of the best movies and shows of my childhood. And of course we have Walt Disney world and land, honestly one of the best amusement parks out there. Now Disney is determined to keep up its family-friendly appearance. But in reality, the company has had a very dark past that they try to cover up. Because scandal, death, and controversy all ruin the magic of Disney.

My mother back in the 60's was turned down by Disney...my mom could draw any cartoon character and in multiple versions... Disney said they did not hire females for animation....they missed out...i learned soo much in drawing and art from her..

2 of his animators thought as a joke to animate an adult cartoon of mickey and Minnie, to show walt thinking he would find it funny, after he saw it he smiled and asked who did it, the 2 animators came forward, walt fired them on the spot and walked out

About the deaths in the parks: I remember hearing that no one "officially" dies in the parks. The myth is that it's because Disney parks don't have coroners on-site, so the person is declared dead once they're taken to the hospital/morgue. In reality, if the person isn't dead on impact of whatever happened, they get emergency services immediately, and apparently the victims are airlifted via helicopter to the nearest hospital. (Learned this via Snopes article).

As for the Matterhorn incidents, it seems like this is more the fault of the passengers, at least one of them, since one of the mentioned stories involve a person standing up on a ride you are CLEARLY not supposed to stand in.

When I was at Disneyworld 20 years ago, a guest was killed on Splash Mountain. They were apparently having a heart attack, went to get off the log right before the final drop, and were crushed. It made the news, do they don't hide deaths that occur.

And the little boy that was attacked in Disneyworld by an alligator, it wasn't a random attack. They were near a lake, that had signs everywhere stating not to go in the water. Warning that there were alligators around. The parents let the little boy go in the water. That isn't Disney's fault.
