💡 Understand Chess Like a PRO

Checkmating pattern is a specific position of your pieces as well as your opponent's pieces that can lead to a quick checkmate.

In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov will show you the top 10 most common checkmate patterns that happen in practical games. They don't happen in artificially composed chess positions, but you can identify these patterns in your practical games more frequently.

Knowing chess patterns helps you to either recognize them or to intentionally 'create' it in your own games. Either way, knowing these patterns helps you achieve the end goal easily, which is to checkmate your opponent quickly!

Don't be sorry for making the video a bit longer. It's not like you are wasting our time by stuttering or mumbling. It's just 19 minutes of precise tactics and explanations. Every minute was well spent and the structure also makes it good for repeat viewing.

For the 3rd mating pattern, after White plays f5 Black can respond with g3 and mate is inevitable.
