Mysterious Radio Signal Discovered in Milky Way Center | What Is It!?

Ziteng (Andy) Wang is a PhD student at the University of Sydney. He recently discovered an unusual radio signal coming from the direction of the Milky Way’s center. The radio waves Andy discovered using the ASKAP radio telescope in Western Australia don’t fit any currently understood pattern of variable radio source and could suggest a new class of stellar object.

Andy joins the K0LWC channel to talk about his discovery and how astronomers use radio telescopes around the world to look for faint radio signals across the cosmos.

Maybe someone can shine some insight into this thought I’ve been having: lights, big lights. Huge lights. Why couldn’t we set up huge bulbs on different planets/or even a comet. Or just send one out to the ort cloud? They could flash just like a picture?
