Something Strange is Sending Radio Signals to Earth Every 53.8 Minutes while Changing Between Forms

Join Territory to get access to perks:

It all began in the summer of 1924, when an American astronomer called David Todd endeavoured to listen to radio signals from the planet Mars. Though unsuccessful, that experiment laid the groundwork for future advancements.

Fast forward to today, astronomers have detected a mysterious signal, ASKAP J1935+2148, unlike anything observed before. This signal, which repeats every 53.8 minutes, goes through three distinct phases—bright flashes lasting up to 50 seconds, weaker pulses for milliseconds, and periods of complete silence.

What makes it truly baffling is that none of our current astrophysical models, whether involving neutron stars or white dwarfs, can explain these shifting patterns. Researchers have speculated that it could be a magnetar, a type of neutron star with strong magnetic fields, but even this theory falls short.

This discovery echoes another strange signal detected years earlier, GPMJ1839-10, which pulses every 22 minutes and has been doing so for 35 years. While some suggest these signals could be extraterrestrial, the reality is, we simply don’t know. These phenomena challenge our understanding of the universe and push the boundaries of modern astrophysics.

It was a beacon signal pulse, and an embedded message. It was decoded last month, the message being and i quote : “you may have already won a million lyras if you have and return the matching numbers, which will be valid until august 30, 2024 .” I feel like a winner now !

BTW, by definition anything not of earth origin is "extraterrestrial ". It doesn't mean an intelligence from another planet, just something not of this earth...Meteors for example.

Let's send them footage from the 1936 Olympics so that when they retransmit it back to us, it will catch our attention.

There is probably very little we really know about the universe, even though scientists like to think we know almost everything. Anyway, whatever it is or was, happened 15, 000 years ago.

Don't confuse the term "signal" with spurious natural transmitter emissions. A signal implies modulation and intelligence.

What kind of question is "Should we reply?" Of course we should, it would be rude not to.

Watching this videos makes me realize even more how petty we are with our wars and struggles on our tiny planet. I wish we could join our resources together for space travel, growing healthy food for our people and examining the skies for the reason why we are all here. If we don't do this then what is the point of living? Why are we doing this for?

Is he talking about 10 different signals? He talks about one says they cant explain it and moves onto another? But the first one is the one he says is weird. I got confused about which one is the one he is speaking about

I think we should do everything we can to hide our existence and keep our eyes open. I am not sure that is even a possibility but we should try. It never hurts to have the first look and element of surprise.
