Tricky Coin Sharing Puzzle : Two friends Alice and Bob.... are about to have lunch in a small village. They see a stranger coming their way and invite him to join the lunch with them.
Alice has 5 loaves of bread.... and Bob has 3.
They share the bread equally among the three of them.
After the lunch.... The stranger gives them 8 coins for sharing bread with him.
Puzzle:
How should the coins be divided between Alice and Bob... so that each of them is fairly compensated for the
bread they shared ?
Pause the video... think logically ... and think mathematically...

This video explains the answer and solution in best way possible.

This puzzle has several variants such as two farmers puzzle. They have roti (chapati or parota) and they share it with a stranger. The idea of puzzle remains the same, only the values are changed.
The main intention is to identify the best way the coin can be shared.

Multiplying each by 3 makes a lot of sense. Had the same answer but much harder to work with fractions

I was right but I approached differently I just got each will get 8/3 bread and then subtract the remaining and I got 7/3 and 1/3 so I got ans 7 and 1 coins

Mission accomplished.i solved it in two minutes

7 coins and 1 coin.... This one was quite simple.... Could do mentally in half a minute....
Each of then has 8/3 loaves....
Loaves paid extra by both are
5 - 8/3 = 7/3 and 3 - 8/3 = 1/3
So coins should be shared in 7:1

Idid this question correctly. I think this question can be solve easily by commerce background student it's same as we do the treatment of Goodwill in partnership .
