I very rarely enter comments to videos posted in youtube however, I felt almost obliged to add mine today. On Friday I noticed the same issue you reported in your video, I measured the resistance of the coil of the failed contactor and it measured 1.3 ohms. I ordered a replacement from amazon and it was delivered to me today Saturday morning. The new contactor from American Zettler measured 13.6 ohms. It took me less than 20 minutes to replace it following your video and my AC is up and running again. No more Y1 E103 error in my Nest AC controller.
Thanks, you save me probably hundreds of dollars (I paid $14.48 for the new contactor) and you helped me to have a better understanding on how the AC systems and the NEST controllers work.
Needless is to say that the help from NEST was very, very limited and did not point me in right direction.
Once again thanks!

This worked for my carrier unit. I also replaced my capacitor at the same time since my unit is from 2016. The part cost me $18 on Amazon local HVAC store wanted $50.

My nest thermostat does this at least once a summer season randomly.. it only wants me to pull the wire out, run the wire stripper tool along the exposed wire and then plug it back into the slot... did it today and then works fine

wrong title. your video shows Y1 wire while title shows Y2 wire. I have the Y1 problem. I am going to check the contactor.

Nice video - BTW 5% of 45 is a tad over 2 - so if it shows less than 43, it is probably a good idea to replace.
Also looks like you swapped in a double-pole contactor for the original single-pole. Interesting.

So question. If my AC still runs and is mostly cold does this mean it's something else?

Weirdly enough I tested the contractor and it was bad reading at 1.2 ohms, and I replaced it thinking it would fix the issues but I still get a e80 no power to y1 error :/. Any other ideas?
