My God, David Gilmour's greatest guitar solo! Every time I listen to it, I weep tears of joy!

The only guitarist alive who can break me down into tears of pure JOY with sound of the instrument. I'm soon to be 53 years old, and as much as I love all the old Classic Floyd tunes, this is IMHO the most joyous piece of music in the entire Floyd catalog, and oddly enough from an album where each member had their own song and this happened to be David's.

I'm sure it's already been said, but there's something about the "less is more" approach and the joyous tone of the solo in this song that takes me to a place I never want to return from. The solo in plain terms is PURE JOY personified. BEAUTIFUL!!

Impeccable timing and when he bangs those low notes it's with an much emotion as the highs. One of my all time favorite guitar solos. Gives me goosebumps EVERY time.

I said more or less the same thing on another recording of Fat Old Sun, but here I go again. This is perhaps the most beautiful song in the entire rock repertoire. There are other pieces that are more ambitious (including Echoes, of course), but as far as being simply perfect, this is it. I admit that I miss the bells from the album, and Gilmour's voice is starting to go. But this is an amazing performance. I've spent a lot of time recently listening to musicians I loved 45 years ago, and most of them have lost it. Gilmour hasn't. (Wishing I was there...)

Imagine fighting the urge to sleep after having spent nearly two hours driving away from 12 consecutive hours of back-breaking work (ironically with a formerly broken back) on just four hours of sleep, ...just so I could listen to this brilliant "Remember" concert from this genuine genius for the very first time. Only to think that I had somehow died and gone to heaven.----Cause in my version of heaven David's music is broadcast 24-8. (My heaven has 8 days in the week, ...by the way).
It was not to be. I was simply in and out of consciousness listening to the single greatest guitar solo I have ever heard in my life.
And to think, I thought that belonged to Comfortably Numb.

This live performance, I dare say, is just as good, if even better than the original studio version from Atom Heart Mother. Didn't think it could get better, but Dave (as well as his fantastic band he's surrounded with) have brought an even greater dynamic to this classic. I could listen to David Gilmour for ever and be moved every time I listen. A true artist in every sense. Bravo, Mr. Gilmour!
