Had one of these clowns come by my house trying to sell me a system. I completely tuned out when he tried to include a monthly payment on the 64GB SD cards (which I priced at retail for $8 a piece), which according to him could hold 10 days of 4k video and that the past 10 days are stored locally on the device. For reference 4k video takes 20GB or more per hour or meaning if this card does anything (which it almost certainly doesn't) that's about 3.1 hours. I impressed upon him how impossible that was and sent him on his way.

Which is sad because the service is overall good but the way the nickel and dime you for no reason is just absurd. And lying to customers like that is almost certainly illegal and could get them in hot water if they don't stop it.

It was great for the first year and the 2nd and 3rd year of having this system, our door camera and the driveway camera keeps going offline. This is now becoming a problem as it always seems to go offline when we have renters check in through Airbnb. Therefore, would not recommend for camera security system. The only pro is that I can change the entry code lock remotely. That is the only reason why I’m keeping this system. Once we decide to move away from short term rentals, I would change security system.

I've used this home security system. My 7 months experience is horrible. The system is pretty good. But the customer service is very bad. I have had an issue with DVR sytem which is 24 hours recording and rewinding. No body can fix it. Whenever I called customer service, I had to explain whole situation and they kept transferring me to the other departments. I had to explain same story to all othet departments. They said it will be fixed in 48 hours. It's been 1 month, but it still doesn't work. No body followed the issue. I had to call them 2~3 times everyweek. This is very terrible experience.

It is affordable with the financing options and has kept my home safe. Also notably has made identifying a trustpasser violating a restraining order easy for my local police department who showed up while we where on vacation. Vivnt has kept my family safe so I recommend them.

CPI Security was the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE we’ve ever had ….

Worst decision I ever made do not use this security system contract gives them full access to your bank account. They make mistakes constantly. You will spend hours days weeks waiting for refunds and that’s if you get them to agree to put the money back and they won’t and they refuse to stop touching your account until you change all your numbers.
