Recovery after Rhinoplasty takes time…as a rule of thumb I always say primary rhinos need 1year recovery time 🦏 😬and revision nosejobs on average 18months ❤️‍🩹 🥶

This has to do a lot with swelling, scar tissue formaction under the skin, contracture of the scar tissue and micro adjustments of the newly shaped cartilages…🥱🤓

This beautiful … and PATIENT⏳… lady kept looking at me saying “we are still healing right?”🥰 yes we were and we still are.

One day she came to see me for a follow-up and she just said “ok now I see it!” … best moment in the rhinoplasty journey, for bot patient and surgeon… it is a bit like mountaineering… you get up at 2:30am… walk in the cold and dark for hours to see a summit 🏔 at dawn … (did this plenty of times during med school😅)

Using the mountain analogy I always tell my patients “my job is to be your Sherpa in the first year of recovery” we are here to help you see the morning sun ☀️ 😜
