A doctor and a comedian? His patients are so lucky because “laughter is the best medicine” and they can have both.

My buddy is also a Laotian doctor who works in Texas. He told me many people mention to him his English is very good. He says to them, "so is yours." Great video!!

“Laotians deal with 10 kids the same way you guys deal with 2…
They love and spoil 2 of them!”

I'm hmong and I'm proud of my Laotian brother here for not just being a Dr, but most importantly, a comedian, which goes against asian norms, mainly, asian parent's wishes for their kids.

Born in US, but I spoke only Greek until I went to school. Also went to Greek school so I am proficient in Greek. When I went to college the requirement was having a second language. I went to the Dean and explained, in perfect English, that I had a second language: English. That surprised him but he recovered and said then I needed to take a proficiency test in my first language, Greek, to meet the second language requirement. So I did. Easiest exam I ever took.

Sabaidee Dr. Viengsouk Phommachanh Sao Lao here and as soon as i saw your name i had to click on your show. It gave me so much Lao pride. That's awesome you're a Lao doctor, comedian, and from FL. My parents were refugees from Laos 🇱🇦 & actually had an arranged marriage here in FL. Then they had me so I became the 1st generation to be born & raised in sunny central FL. My mom was from a family of 5 kids & my dad from a family of 14 kids. So the big family stereotype about Lao people are true lol. Can't wait to hear more of your jokes they're very wholesome.

I like how he casually drops it that he's a doctor. It's no biggie for an Asian. Every Asian family has a doctor. It is required.

Absolutely one of the funniest comedians I know. Impeccable timing.

The only way Asian parents let him be a comedian is by him being a doctor first!

I am so glad that he is doing this for a living! Could you imagine having a doctor this funny? This is definitely part of his skill set! If he is as good a doctor as he is funny his patients are very blessed!

As a Floridian, I was wheezing at his description of the spaghetti model. You know that notepad they have near the art supplies, so you can test out colored pencils before you buy them, and there's always somebody who has to test every single one? At the end of the day, the head of the art supply department in Hobby Lobby tears that piece of paper off the pad and sends it to the local meteorologists, who recycle it as a means of weather prediction. Hand to God.

I will very much enjoy following you, Vien Phommachanh. Just my kind of humor. 💕 (American gal who's worked entire adult life in the P.I., S.K., China and the M.E..)

This is what happened to my daughter :) Due to certain circumstances, our Family's first language is English. We are South Indian and moved to Canada from India. When we did, our daughter was put into ESL. I had to go to the school a few times to explain why she should not be in ESL. She was seven and writing in perfect cursive as well. The teacher told her to go back to writing in print, because the other kids couldn't understand what she was writing. :( Love seeing comedians like this who share their stories.

😅😅😅😅😅 *They did that to me in HS too. Because I moved from another country they assumed, and not just English but other subjects like math too. I didn’t say anything and chilled for the longest time until the teachers realized “Why are you even in this class?” But my classmates were the coolest though. No regret*

Very funny. A doctor, a comedian and a Laotian walk into a restaurant. Which one is the waiter?
