For water based acrylics only, boil a pot of water in your coffee maker and flush that through your brush. Works every time.

The brush is good with the exception that isn't solvant resistant. I've melted the hairs of the brush by using Tamiya's airbrush cleaner and thinner. Tamiya paints are solvant based acrylics.

Best video by far as someone who hasn't even started

If you use water based paints, Createx 4008 Restorer is your friend. It will dissolve dried paint fairly quickly. Reacts with the packing and seals so just use it to clean the cup, nozzle, and needle

As noted below distilled hot water works excellent between color changes

Watching all of your videos right now. Having a few problems with my airbrush and cannot seem to resolve them. Going to do a big deep clean this weekend on both my airbrushes. Your videos are a huge help. Airbrushing can be great until things don't work right. Then it's a real pain lol.

I always pull out the needle through the front in order to avoid pulling residu inside the pistol.

I prefer using a paint brush with a fine tip cut so that it can reach deeper inside and bunch up at the end and then I just roll it a couple times and it gets everything. It works exceptionally well for cleaning out tiny flecks if you're using a metallic type paint with those tiny specks of whatever it is in it. It really gets down in it and gets it moved around, add some water and continue until you don't see anymore floating in the water.

I always wipe the cup out with a paper towel first, then start the rinse.

don’t use a lot of random chemicals! It will make your paint chunk up. Remove all chunks from the cup with a paper towel. Don’t clean it through your nozzle. Chunks will clog your nozzle up.

You should use a spray bottle and fill it with cleaner, spray it into the cup on a wide spray and itll blow it out 10x quicker, then hit it with any paint brush and continue til clean, plus pulling it down but I only do that on the finishing clean. Great vid

Never, ever pull a needle out of an airbrush with paint, or anything else in it. You are simply allowing the paint, or whatever, to flow into places it shouldn't be. And never pull a paint covered needle out the back of the airbrush. Again, you are introducing paint into places it shouldn't be.

Would this be same process be fine with Tamiya paint that’s used for plastic models since I would like to learn to airbrush and use paints on my models.

I just spray out in a plastic box but there is always paint that sticks in the pore of the metal you cant get out after a while on the inside of the cup. I just rely on friction to keep the other parts relatively clean.

I just received my Airbrush and Compressor a few days go! So I have been bindge watching your videos thanks so much for sharing ❤
I also got the new cleaning kit, and was wondering instead of buying the cleaning wipes do baby wipes work just as good? Is there any reason I should go buy instead. Baby wipes seem like a cheap option, expecially since I already have them.
