I like to think that, in Homura’s labyrinth, she got to experience something she wasn’t able to in all of the timelines she was in. Likewise, Madoka got something she didn’t get, as Mami, Sayaka and Kyoko didn’t either. They all got a moment to be friends and have fun together. They were magical girls as they might have seen in anime.

I really love all the symbolism with all their transformations. From mami hatching into her magical girl form to sayaka running into hers is an incredible amount of detail. Also another detail that I noticed is that while mami, kyoko, and sayakas themes all seem to be individual ones, homuras and madokas have no pause between them which would seem to indicate that it’s the same song between them just at different points. Which would point to a more personal connection between them.

I swear It's the symbolism that makes me so hooked to this franchise. The attention to details and how everything is connected into a complex system of threads. The myriad of foreshadowings/foreboding moments in every episode/movie, the frames during a Witch Labyrinth sequence. It's both beautiful and artistically deranged (kind of like Alina Grey from Magia Record)

And this transformation sequence will probably remain the best one I've ever seen in the history of Anime. Yup.

1:42 Homura's tranformation seems to be the counterpart of Madoka's but representing duality.

I think both Sayaka’s and Madoka’s transformations shows them entering the labyrinth. Sayaka bursting through the water was extremely similar to Homura when she was trying to burst out of the black liquid in her transformation which represents her being trapped in her own trap. Sayaka fully broke through but you saw she curled up as it in pain and then she posed. She was being affected by the Labyrinth. Madoka however was her fake self until the giant hand broke through which was the real
Madoka coming to save her only to be trapped and when she posed I think it was the real Madoka then joining her friends

The animation they did for this is so satisfying and smooth, and with all the foreshadowing and metaphors, they did amazing on this movie!

I remember tearing up when I heard decretum during sayaka's part of the transformation, I was like no why are you doing this to meeee
Also not the silhouette of her in despair right before she finishes transforming ugh my heart

I also don't appreciate the phrases spinkled into homura's transformation, they make me so emotional sdfjlaskdf

I missed watching Rebellion. Now it's not on Netflix anymore.

This is one of the only 60fps videos that genuinely look good. The others usually smudge the frames of the animated parts but this one doesn't. Instead it smoothens out the tweens, background movements and the effects without affecting the hand-drawn parts.

I always loved the backgrounds of the labyrinths, especially this one, I love how it looks like a quilt of some kind.

Just realized that Madoka's theme music in her transformation is a sped up version of the music when the magical girls are saved. The love and details put into this anime is why it's one of the best pieces of fiction made.
