Big cake! Round cake! Right infront of me! Who could you think this cake could be? Is the cake Sayaka? No, It's not me! I'm just a little of raspberry! That big round cake is a little too red, don't ya know? Could the cake be Kyouko? No, not me, I'm the juicy apple in this story! That big round cake loves bebe, can't ya see? Is the cake Mami?! No It's not me! I am the cheese! This big round cake is tumbling you see! Could the cake be Homura? NO! Not me! I'm the pumpkin fall seeds! This big round cake looks sweeter then sweet.. Could the cake be Madoka? No It's not me! I'm the melon, don't you see? When you slice the melon it will bring you sweet dreams! So why is the dream so bitter of late? Cause' the ca-ke is dream is the one on the plate! It's so plum It's gonna taste GREAT!!!!

For those wanting to know why this song is sung and what it means:

The song is sung as like an incantation for Bebe to consume the nightmare they are trying to defeat in Homura’s dream world.

As to what it means:
It is just the writer’s way of foreshadowing and displaying each characters’ roles in the story.

Sayaka calls herself a raspberry. Raspberries symbolize love and she only became a magical girl to grant Soskue’s wish because she loved him and wanted to see him happy. Sayaka then says that the cake is red, which the only person in all red is Kyoko.

Kyoko says I am the apple in this story. Which is just a literal thing and apples are tough but sweet which is like Kyoko. Kyoko says the cake loves Bebe, don’t you know? And if I remember correctly Mami loved Bebe so much, she allowed it to consume her. So that foreshadowed Mami’s demise.

Mami says she is the cheese but the cheese pictured is black molded cheese which also foreshadows Mami’s corruption and becoming a witch. Mami then says, this cake is tumbling (in the japanese version it says this cake goes around in circles) can’t you see? Which is foreshadowing Homura’s mental state and actions to follow. Also foreshadows Homura time looping.

Then Homura says, I am the pumpkin full of seeds. Which is symbolism, pumpkin tastes bitter when eaten just by its-self but it tastes better when it is sweetened. Which kind of describes Homura.. she isn’t nice or warm to anyone really but Madoka. It also is describes Homura’s codependency with Madoka. Then Homura says, this cake is sweeter than sweet which describes Madoka’s personality.

Madoka says I am the melon, can’t you see and when you split the melon up it brings sweet dreams! Which foreshadows Madoka’s willingness to sacrifice herself for all the other magical girls in order to save them.

I like the fact how the cheese is like all black and everything and how Bebe loves cheese and how mami was the cheese but Bebe ate her

1:06 The fact that Sayaka is quietly singing along is too precious. 😊

Probably the closest little scene Madoka ever got to a typical magical girl anime after episode 3. Even without context and underatanding the symbolism, this still sounds very creepy in a way.

I like how Bebe says Mogu mogu, a Japanese onomatopoeia for head chomping.

I love how occult and “witchy” this scene feels.

“So why is the dream so bitter of late?” in particular sounds like something the witches from MacBeth might say.

Seeing Bebe devour the cake and before that, circle around the girls like a predator makes me glad that she's on their

"This big round cake is tumbling you see."
Just like Homura's own sanity

This scene was... Weird.

Little easter egg though, Homura flinches when Charlotte gets close while none of the other characters do for plot related reasons. Nice touch at her past and what she's been through!

This entire scene is just foreshadowing and I love it

I only just noticed its a refrence to the line "if you cant make a wish ill throw a party and you can wish for a really big cake" which she said before bebe killed her

Theory:

Remember, right before Mamis death, Mami made a deal with Madoka that if she wasn't sure what to wish for they can wish for a big cake for them to share. I feel like this applies in some kind of way to each timeline and is wrapped up in Homuras brain. The cake is the witch/nightmares people have, so potientally the cake is meant to be eating up the bad things experienced as a way of coping (??). I'd potientally say that each ingredient further away from cake is the most trouble to Homura. For instance, she's the pumpkin. Shes the most difficult to herself. The cheese is next, Mami is the most trouble in the different timelines, like when she killed Kyoko and tried to kill the others, or ruining her plans to save Madoka. Kyoko is the apple, being a driver to becoming a magical girl. Sayaka is the raspberry, a little more tart, a little too small and insignificant, but makes that difference to know it isn't close to the go-away (cake). Madoka is the one closest to cake as shes sweet, and has brought Homura into a deep obsession with saving her. Sweet dreams is Homura seeing Madoka have a route where she lives instead I'd like to think.

Hope this little theory makes sense!

Everyone is talking about how Homura called Madoka sweeter than sweet but Sayaka did the same to Kyouko too at 1:04 if you pay close attention Sayaka is singing along saying that to Kyouko meanwhile giggling to herself. She is absolutely adorable!!
