Is no one going to talk about the health care costs to the individual? If you go with herd immunity, there will be a significant number of people who would be exposed who do not have heath insurance who will them have to pay for treatment. Because of herd immunity, their ability to.avoid it will be diminished. This will have further implications regarding existing conditions.

Wasn't this disproven tho anyways with the recent reports of people getting reinfected & sick

1) People can get reinfected with this,
2) the antibody titers are far less than expected for this stage in the outbreak and
3) some people with PCR/antigen proven infection do NOT have antibodies when you check them a month or so later.

These are all significant problems for any proponent of the Herd immunity strategy. We need to know more about the role of T cell immunity in all this before we take such Massive risks with the public's lives.

The room full of bouncing balls is a terribly confusing analogy to herd immunity.
A better one is : throw everyone in the pool. Those who can float will survive, and get out of the pool. As a result, that society is immune to drawing, should any of the survivors fall in the pool again.
