So if most of the herd is vaccinated for their protection against a disease, why do they need to worry about the unvaccinated? How can they be at risk of infection if the vaccine is effective?

Yet another great video, Mr Andersen, but why, oh why, do I read the comments?  I feel like I need to dip my brain in some sort of cleaning solution to wash off the stuff that I encountered there.

Don't go any farther if you're reading the comment section. You'll find the epitome of human ignorance (or maybe it's arrogance?)

Thanks for the video, btw!

Herd immunity seems to assume limited interaction between members of a population- e.g. at 2:24 it is said that those with immunity form a barrier between those that are infected and those are are susceptible. In a large herd where an animal moving together with others would have limited interaction with the entire population, it is understandable, but with a human being who would frequently move through the population, it is not. Or am I looking at it too simply?

Great explanation. Try to vaccinate people, but don't waste time wringing your hands about people who are dead - set against it. Spend your time helping those who want vaccines instead.

Consider that plenty of the world wants vaccines but can't get them. That's territory which makes much more sense to help than those can get them, but won't.

Of course, if someone's on the fence, help them to get to the right side . . . that's not a waste of time at all. Thanks again, Paul!
