2021 Ford F-150 – B&O Unleashed Sound System Review

The 2021 Ford F-150 has a truck load of cool new features, but the B&O Unleashed audio system is one of the most important. Featuring 18 speakers and excellent mixing, it shows that Ford is taking audio quality seriously. For all kinds of music, this thing sounds really good. It might even be better than the Ram's Harman Kardon!

I have a Limited as well. There is only one subwoofer behind rear seat (1). Others are: woofers in front doors (2), three full range front dash (3), two tweeters front pillars (2), two full range roof above front seats (2), four total in head rests (4), two coaxial rear doors (4 total cones) equals 18 speakers.

I have a ‘23 Tremor with the Unleashed upgrade and it sounds phenomenal. Now, I had a 2011 Platinum and had the Sony audio system and to me it sounded great. This B&O Unleashed was definitely an great upgrade from the standard B&O Standard that comes with the Lariat. I have zero complaints with my Tremor B&O Unleashed and it cost me $0 after all the incentives and discounts. So, opinions vary, but when you have the settings to your liking, then you’ll be surprised how awesome this system sounds.

I get my platinum power boost next week and can’t wait!! The only sound system I really enjoyed from a car manufacturer was in my Landrover LR4. It had the Harmon kardon logic 7. It blew me out of the water. I hope this one does the same.

I have this system and this is a pretty good representation of what it sounds like. Obviously the mics can't relay the low bass, and I think they're accentuating the highs a bit (maybe 1k-2khz? You can also hear this when rocks hit the truck and when things "click") but other than that it's an outstanding binaural portrayal of the real thing!

Very happy with mine. Loud, clear and distinct reproduction. Quiet interior makes for a low sound floor and really allows for an enjoyable experience. I have no idea if it is technically good. Just experientially.

Bose needs to do a better job in the GMC Sierra’s sound system. They only offer 7 speakers... and sounds like mediocre compared to Ford. This B&O sound system sounds so darn good!

And today Ford released an Update that made the Unleashed 4x better than it already was, way more bass coming from the sub and the headrest speakers are wayyy more vivid now

correct me if I'm wrong but I think on ford vehicles, the speakers are generic but it is tuned by B&O. I've heard they are bad in some ford vehicles. The real B&O systems are in German cars

Doesn't sound very crisp or go very high? You need to turn up the mid-range and the treble and not have it at the halfway mark LOL great review video though.

You mentioned in this video that this system is a smidge better than the HK Ram system but in your TRX HK review you scored that system a lot lower. Based on that can you elaborate? Deciding between the two trucks and stereo is up there in terms of importance for me since I spend a lot of time traveling.

It’s an OK stock system… anyone that says it’s great is lying. If you just listen to music at lower volume it sounds better, the louder you turn it up, it just sounds… confused for a lack of better words.

I have the 2022 F150 platinum. I have had numerous cars with factory upgraded sound system. This is easily the worst. It is not super crisp and it does not go very loud. It is a complete waste of money. Get the factory basic option and upgrade that yourself. On a scale of 1-10 I give this a 6
