This made me laugh. I know the back road you drove inland on, Nacimento Rd. (spelling?). I drove through Big Sur with a friend a few years ago, and your friend is right. That drive was beautiful, but terrifying. :) Sharp, blind curves along a narrow road with steep drop-offs on the side. I remember the landscape was beautiful, but that was one scary ride! :) I had to laugh when I heard your friend say that. But the drive along the coast through Big Sur was stunning.
