Judge Allows Anti-2A Groups To Sue YouTube For Mass Shootings

The real people bringing this lawsuit against YouTube and other social media platforms are the anti-gun lobby.

They're just using the victims of the Buffalo mass shooting as a proxy in their culture war against the Second Amendment.

What they're trying to do is get firearm content removed from social media.

They're trying to do this by making firearm content on social media too much of a liability to allow on their platforms.

You do this buy filing ludicrous lawsuits like this one that forces social media sites to spend a ton of money fighting these types of cases to the point where it's just too expensive to deal with hassle of having firearm content on their platform.

Social media sites barely tolerate the gun community as is, whereas sites like TikTok have essentially banned firearm content on their platform

So it's not like this can't or hasn't already happened.

Do you think social media platforms should be held civilly accountable for the content on their platforms, or are you like me and see this as yet another way the anti-gun lobby is trying to destroy the Second Amendment from a different angle?

Don't call them Anti-2A, call them anti-constitution.

Can we sue Giffords when anyone is killed/injured in a 'No Gun Zone'??

Hey why not blame the gunman for what he did. This sounds like a cash grab to me.

Ludicrous. The judge that made this ruling should be censured, removed from the bench, and disbarred for LIFE.

Fight fire with fire. The family of Laken Riley should sue the Anti-2A groups for pushing for "gun-free zones", such as the campus of UGA where she was murdered, and their actions prevented Laken from protecting herself while out jogging.

So, it's not just the 2nd Amendment but technically the First Amendment

When are they going to sue Hollywood ?

If they succeeded in removing firearm content from YouTube, it would be the final nail in YouTube's coffin for me. As it already is, their censorship of comments is ludicrous.

Anyone who advocates to penalize those who have NOT committed a crime is either: illogical and should be ignored, or they're getting something out of it and should be scrutinized.

They blame everyone, but the criminals

Suing, banning, and blaming everyone and everything except the actual criminals.

I still don't understand how YouTube is responsible for murder?

Here’s a novel idea: hold criminals accountable for their actions and leave law abiding citizens alone!

So when are they gonna sue CNN, CNBC, FOX, ABC, NBC, and all the others for doing the exact same thing?

I guess we should start suing judges for repeat offenders.

That "legal team" is fighting for a payday, not justice. They clearly don't know about the law or Section 230...
They're dumb and should feel dumb.

This is a New York judge, with two New York attorneys New York is the love to sue for anything state. As well, one of the most crooked states in the nation if not the most criminal outside of Washington DC.
